World food rise by 70% in 2050

World food production should rise by 70% in 2050 to meet the demand of 9.1 billion people. According to the FAO, there will be serious problems especially in developing countries, if the annual cereal production won't rise from 2.1 to 3 billion every year until 2050.

The annual production of meat should increase from 200 to 470 tons every year. The world population is expected to grow by 34% in the coming 40 years to reach 9.1 billion people.

The largest increases will be in developing countries with a growing urbanization which implies less people in rural/agricultural areas.
