Interest in original products. As cost of production rises along with the upcoming economies in Chinese and Indian industrial and trading centres, the emphasis is more on efficiency instead of creativity 

Opposite to the standardisation in product offerings and in chain stores in shopping centres, there is a growing demand for original products offered by retail specialists. This development hides opportunities for innovative products for niche markets, especially in clothing, footwear, luxury goods, electronics and household furnishing and equipment. In retailing the emphasis will be more on in-store expertise, better after sales service, especially when considering the ageing population in Europe.
